How Alachua Arrest Records Split
About 11,353 people call the City of Alachua home, per the official April 1, 2025 estimate. Two agencies split the paperwork there. The Alachua Police Department polices the streets, but the Sheriff's Office runs the county jail. So a real arrest leaves a paper trail on both sides. APD keeps the city police report. ACSO handles the booking record at the Alachua County Jail and may attach a custody photo.
Not every police contact ends behind bars, though. A citation, a notice to appear, or a report-only call can leave an APD file with no booking photo anywhere. Once charges are filed, the Alachua County Clerk holds the docket and the final result. Keep the offices straight. APD owns the event, ACSO owns custody and the mugshot, and the Clerk owns the outcome. None of them fills in for the others.
No Alachua Busted Mugshot Blotter
APD publishes no daily bulletin. There is no timed arrest feed and no mugshot blotter. That gap points you elsewhere first. For current custody, the county inmate search beats waiting on a city post. Older events go through APD's Records Division, which does not promise photos. Any image made at jail intake belongs to ACSO.
ACSO offers no 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, or weekly booking feed either. Its View All option shows everyone currently held, nothing more. It will not list every City of Alachua arrest from a recent date range, and a name drops off the live roster the moment the person walks free. The records still exist. An APD report, an ACSO booking record, and a Clerk case all sit in the files waiting.
Note: A blank current roster result can reflect release or no jail intake, not proof that no APD event occurred.
Where Alachua Busted Mugshots Appear
Each source below answers a different question. The official offices come first, since they control the underlying city, jail, and court records. News pages and aggregator sites follow. Treat every result there with a date check and an accuracy check before trusting it.
| Channel | Photo? | Status | What it answers |
|---|---|---|---|
| ACSO Inmate Lookup | Yes | Official | Who is in the county jail now |
| APD Records Division | Not promised | Official | City arrest and incident records by request |
| Alachua County Clerk | Not a mugshot source | Official | Filed case events and final disposition |
| Alachua Chronicle Crime | Often | News | Near-daily county booking logs and selected city stories |
| Mainstreet Daily News, WCJB, and WUFT | Varies | News | Selected significant City of Alachua events |
| Busted Newspaper, Recently Booked, Mugshots.com, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.zone | Often | Unofficial | County-level pages, not complete city feeds |
The five aggregators are secondary publishers. Entries can be incomplete, delayed, duplicated, or flat wrong. A county label promises nothing. It does not mean every APD arrest made the list, or that a person shown is still jailed. Confirm anything you find against ACSO and the Clerk.
Who Was Busted in Alachua
Add a booking date or case number when you search a name. It helps a lot. ACSO takes first and last names, booking numbers, and partial case-insensitive entries. A current result may show a photo, the booking date and time, the arresting agency, a POD or jail unit, and identifiers. Expanded views add booked charges, bond status, and a court case number.
- Search the ACSO roster for present county-jail custody. Try a partial spelling if the full name returns nothing.
- Confirm that the arrest-agency field identifies APD when looking for a municipal arrest report.
- If the person is no longer listed, ask ACSO for the existing booking sheet and booking photograph.
- Ask APD Records for its arrest or incident report using the date, person, and report number when known.
- Follow the court case number into the Clerk docket for amendments, dismissal, plea, adjudication, or sentence.
Booked means admitted to the jail. Released means no longer held under that booking. Neither word says how the court ruled. Anyone moved to Florida prison or state supervision belongs in the Florida Department of Corrections search rather than the county's current-inmate roster. The Alachua County busted mugshots hub walks through those custody states in full.
Request Alachua Police Records
APD takes record requests in person or by phone. Come prepared. Have a name, an event date, a location, and a report number if you know one, and state plainly what you want. An APD arrest report covers the municipal police event only. The booking record and photograph from the later jail intake live with ACSO, so asking APD for a jail image just burns time.
Fees are modest. The first 15 minutes of staff time cost nothing, and work beyond that is billed at the employee rate. Copies run $0.15 for a one-sided page, $0.20 for two-sided, and certification adds $1 per document. The city promises no completion deadline. Ask for an estimate on any broad project, and leave a contact for delivery.

Call APD at (386) 462-1396 or fax (386) 462-1831. Mind the four-day public schedule, a key local limit. A request sent late Thursday may not get the same routing as one filed during posted Records Division hours.
The official APD Records page lists the city's request-based access point along with the division's posted details.
That page reinforces the APD-report route. A jail-created Alachua mugshot, though, remains an ACSO record.
When Alachua Busted Photos Appear
Arrests in Alachua County happen at all hours. ACSO Booking Support processes admissions and releases around the clock, and anyone booked into the jail sees a judge within 24 hours. But the online roster is different. The sheriff's office promises no set update schedule for it. The jail never closes, yet a fresh busted photo can still take time to appear online.
Plenty of work happens before a name surfaces in a search. Staff confirm identity, enter the record, log belongings, run medical and security checks, and assign a housing unit. Searchers see none of that. An arrest just happened? Try again in a day or two. Someone already released? The current roster will not show them, so send ACSO a records request for the booking sheet and photo instead.
Alachua Busted Mugshots in News
Alachua Chronicle is the strongest local news bridge. It posts county booking logs nearly every day. Staff receive raw logs, make minor corrections, and check court records for obvious errors, its methodology says. That care adds useful context. But the log is still a news product. It can carry later-corrected source data, and it will not update the way the ACSO custody roster does.
Mainstreet Daily News, WCJB, and WUFT cover selected City of Alachua cases when events are significant. None runs a municipal arrest ledger, though. The five county aggregators may also label Alachua records. None is guaranteed to isolate the city or stay current. The Alachua County Arrest News page compares the wider local media field.
When a story catches your eye, move to the official chain. ACSO answers present custody. APD supplies the city report. The Clerk shows what happened in court.
Alachua Booking Record Roles
People mix up three distinct documents all the time. An arrest report comes from the police agency along with its supporting material. A booking record covers the jail admission itself. A disposition is the court's final word on the matter. Each moves on its own timeline and stays available for its own period.
| Record | Custodian | Main purpose |
|---|---|---|
| APD arrest or incident report | Alachua Police Department | Police event and report details |
| Booking sheet and image | Alachua County Sheriff’s Office | County-jail intake and custody record |
| Criminal docket and disposition | Alachua County Clerk | Filed charges and later court result |
Numbers link these records together, but they are not the same number. The ACSO MNI is a local master-name identifier. A booking number marks one intake. The Clerk case number belongs to the filed court matter. Knowing which number goes where makes an Alachua busted mugshot search faster and far less frustrating.
One more thing about the current ACSO results grid. It lists the arresting agency apart from the jail operator. An APD label means APD made the arrest, not that APD owns the jail photograph. Booking date and time reflect admission rather than when the incident occurred, and bond or charge status can change after first appearance. Read these fields as routing clues, not a complete case file.
When a result drops off the current roster, send ACSO a narrow request. Include the person's name, a rough booking date, and the booking or MNI number if you have it, and ask for the electronic booking sheet and photograph. The custodian may redact material or apply exemptions, and release of every image is not guaranteed. A no-record reply only means the office found nothing responsive; it says nothing about whether police contact occurred.
The Clerk docket closes the loop. Filed counts can differ from the jail entry, and the case may later see amendments, a dismissal, a plea, an adjudication, or a sentence. No court number yet? Give filing time or call the right custodian. A news caption never substitutes for that official outcome.
